Oxton Village
Oxton is an area rich in historical interest and architectural character with a vibrant village centre. Dating back to 1549, Oxton was once one of the most affluent areas in England mainly due to its proximity to Liverpool and the fact that along with various other Wirral locations, it was a favourite residential area for wealthy Liverpool merchants and tradesmen of the time.
The village boasts a reputation of interest, from Art to foodies - it is the perfect location to soak in some local culture. You can enjoy a drink in one of its many bars, some delicious coffee and a sandwich in one of the many cafes followed by a wander around its quaint boutiques shops and gift shops.
The oldest pub in the village is The Shrewsbury Arms, an upmarket local pub, and the Oxton Bar and Kitchen is perfect for live music and superb cocktails.
Green’s, grocers/delicatessens, stocks a variety of local produce. On Saturday mornings they hold a meet the maker, where customers get to meet the local suppliers and even get a taste of their produce. An exciting time when a truly local Greengrocer is successful offering a complete change to the huge supermarkets and internet shopping.
